Kyle McLain enters his seventh season as the head coach of the D’Youville baseball program, where he has made a remarkable impact since his appointment. Under his leadership, the team achieved a historic milestone in 2024, recording a program-best 31 wins and clinching the Regular Season Conference Co-Championship in the East Coast Conference. His outstanding efforts earned him the accolades of Division II 2024 NCBWA East Region Coach of the Year and the 2024 East Coast Conference Coach of the Year.
McLain has been instrumental in cultivating a culture of excellence within the program. In 2024, he developed D’Youville’s first-ever NCBWA All-American selection, showcasing his commitment to player development. His coaching has led to significant recognition for his athletes, producing four NCBWA All-East Region selections in 2024, along with additional selections in 2022 and 2023. The team also boasted seven First-Team All-Conference selections in 2024, a testament to the skill and dedication fostered during his tenure.
A strong advocate for academic achievement, McLain has maintained a team GPA exceeding 3.4 every semester from 2019 to 2024, emphasizing the importance of balancing academics with athletics.
Year-to-Year Coaching Record at D’Youville:
Before embarking on his coaching career, McLain was a standout player at Washington and Jefferson College, where he was a four-year starter. His playing career was marked by three First-Team All-Conference selections and an ACBA All-Region selection in 2012. He contributed to two NCAA Tournament appearances and helped secure a Presidents Athletic Conference Championship in 2013. Additionally, McLain was recognized as an NYCBL All-Star with the Olean Oilers in 2013.
McLain resides in Snyder, NY with his wife, Katie, and three daughters, Addison, Riley, and Hayden.
